Wine Education Classes

In our inaugural class, we will explore the wines of Argentina. The fifth largest producer of wine in the world, this regionally complex country has many varieties of grapes reflecting the country’s vast immigrant population and resulting in wines such as the well-known Malbec. We invite you to take a stroll through the temperate climate and foothills of Argentina with six tastings and a variety of food pairings. Each wine is selected to highlight the authentic flavors of the region.

My husband and I decided to try something new, we were very impressed with the tour. Being local we thought we knew everything. Midgi and the staff were very informative in the history of Juneau, AK, and we ate at places we didn’t even know about, it was wonderful. I would definitely take this tour again with my family and friends when they come to visit. The food tour was amazing! Thanks Midgi for bringing Juneau Food Tours alive!

Great for visitors and locals!

As a chef, working in Seattle it has been so wonderful to watch the Juneau Food scene blossom. The Juneau Food Tour gave me an even greater perspective on the local chefs and their projects. Midgi, our guide, was both gracious and informative. She brought personal insight and a ton of Juneau trivia to the tour. Really engaging and fun.

Done the “usual”? Try something new!

“Sightseeing, shopping and food all in one really fun tour -top notch! Owned/operated and staffed by locals (who live, work and eat in Juneau year-round), we really enjoyed ourselves. One of the best things to do in town, in my opinion!”

Just back to So Cal from our visit to Juneau. I loved every minute of the food tour last Sunday! Had to tell others that I met that they just had to experience Juneau Food Tours also. Thanks for such a fun and unique afternoon!

The awesome thing about this tour, is that it not only takes you to some of the more popular restaurants in Juneau, but it also takes you to some of the smaller more quaint places as well that a lot of people never know about. As we walked through town, we also got some small history lessons on some of the local landmarks. At each restaurant location we got to taste test their best selling food item. Of course, everything was delicious! It was the perfect amount of food at each location, so I still had room to taste all of the others! But we had the option to buy more to take home if we wanted to. If you are a foodie like me, you will certainly enjoy this tour.

I wanted to plan something special for my sister-in-law and our four daughter-in-laws while other family members were off salmon fishing or watching the six grandchildren. This tour was just the ticket! The tour included a great variety of food, sights, history and local culture. When I look back on our tour, I’ll have fond memories of my family bonding around great food and beautiful, unique locations.

This was one of my favorite excursions from my Alaska cruise. Midgi, the owner, …not only brings you to great restaurants, but gives you a history lesson about Juneau (it is by no means boring). This is a not to be missed experience!

This was one of the best shore excursions we’ve taken. Besides the great tastes we got the real backstory of the food scene in Juneau. There are local artists producing world class dishes that compare to any other city. In a very short amount of time we got to sample seafood dishes that really made great use of the regional specialties like smoked salmon, crab bisque, and fish tacos. Whenever you find yourself in Juneau, you should take this tour.
