As the 2015 summer visitor season winds down, the work at our offices (affectionately known as HQ) continues. This week I travel to Seattle to the International Food Bloggers Conference (IFBC). This is an annual pilgrimage for many food writers and bloggers who seek to keep updated on food trends and to learn about new tools for blogging and writing a food column. I also enjoy the great culinary creativeness of the food at this event. Last year I was introduced to Noosa Yoghurt, and I now start nearly every morning with a container of their delicious honey infused yogurt. So glad this is available in Juneau!
Owning and operating a culinary walking tour is more than a hobby for me. It is my passion. Every time I guide a tour, I am excited about meeting new people and taking them on a tour of the tastes of Southeast Alaska. It is this passion that motivates me to learn more about food, the history of Juneau, as well as culinary tourism in general. Alaskan food is more than delicious, it has a story, and I love telling a great story. Attending conferences such as IFBC, provides me with new information and energy to ensure I am providing a great tour experience for my guests. Here is a fun example: a new product by Coravin that will be available at the conference. I’m the only wine drinker in my home, so this is a great tool for me!
I invite you to follow my blog this winter as I share about new tour options, tasty recipes, and edible knowledge.
Thank you for a wonderful 2015 summer season!
Wishing you a tasty day,
