Guests of Juneau Food Tours are delighted to find a “little sumpin’”from Juneau’s Chef Stef in their gift bags. Chef Stef is a local baking and candy-making celebrity. A long-time Juneau local hailing from Flushing, New York, she combines her passions for food and art into treats that are as beautiful as they are tasty.

Chef Stef’s street cred is formidable. She served under three different Alaska governors as the Executive Residence Chef at the Governor’s House. During that time she represented Alaska three times at the Great American Seafood Cook-off.  In addition to her baking shop, Chef Stef runs the kitchen at the Capitol building during the legislative session, feeding the Senators, Representatives, and their staffs. Chef Stef’s famed shortbread, toffee, and caramels are holiday traditions in Juneau, and her products are available year-round through local retail shops and on her website.

Tour with Taste guests are treated to a fun Alaskan treat from Chef Stef, her spruce tip salted caramels. These little goodies are infused with spruce tips foraged right here in Southeast Alaska and topped with a delicate sprinkle of spruce tip salt. Yep, that real Alaskan food by real Alaskans, folks!

Those who join us on the Taste of Nature love the glacial ice cookies. Chocolate and crystal blue mint. The perfect treat after a day of kayaking and hiking!
