PaintingWe know that many of our guests arrive to Juneau via cruise ship, which limits their time here in Alaska’s capital city.  The tour is only 2.5 hours to allow guests plenty of time to explore more of the city.  One of the top questions guests ask is “Where can I shop for local items?”

JFT likes to support locally owned business, as well as direct guests to the items they’re seeking.  We have paired with a dozen downtown retailers to provide coupons to help guests find that special gift or souvenir.   This series of blogs will share more about our retail partners, the owners, and their products.

Sketch is owned and operated by MK MacNaughton, one of Juneau’s many talented artists.  MK is a teaching and exhibiting artist, and Sketch is her studio.  She welcomes visitors to stop by for one-of-a-kind gifts such as miniature oil paintings or hand-painted t-shirts, prints, ornaments and cards.  While there you can also check out the new work in progress and meet a local artist.

Kid paintingWhen asked what made Sketch unique, MK replied, “I offer Art Catering.  With advance notice, I can create a unique class for small groups. This is a fun opportunity to spend time with friends, family, or co-workers.  This would be a great option for those traveling to Juneau with a family reunion or group!”

We hope this insight in to Sketch will be on your list of things to do after your food tour in Juneau.

Products can also be ordered online via her website.
